Testimonial
"We are working on a complex scheduling system, built from scratch and Bobby and his team have been SUPER responsive. They've offered ideas that have improved usage of the system tremendously, their communication has been frequent and detailed and the quality of the documents provided to us to date have been excellent. I would strongly recommend them for any significant development effort."

Q:   Where are you located?
A:   Dever Goodwin, LLC's main office is located in Dallas, Texas.

Q:   How large is your company?
A:   At any given time, between 12 and 20 team members are working on our projects. This includes our in-house project managers and the contractors they manage: graphic artists, designers, database experts, programmers, testers, copy writers and server administrators.

Q:   How long have you been in the business?
A:   Dever Goodwin, LLC was created in late 2001. The owners and almost all of our team members have experience in the web, web application and web marketing industries dating back to the mid-1990's.

Q:   Do you outsource your work to contractors or other firms?
A:   We provide a dedicated, in-house project manager for every project. Project managers may use contractors to provide technical services and buffer workload variations, but they never simply broker or subcontract projects (requiring the customer to work directly with an outside vendor), no matter how large or small the project is.

Q:   Who owns the code when you create a website or web application?
A:   The customer does. We never sell programming services and then claim to own the code after the sale. What the customer buys is theirs. We may, however, take actions to prevent reverse-engineering of our proprietary processes, but this does not include owning the code we create.

Q:   What programming and database technologies do you use to create your applications?
A:   We use a highly effective process for designing, coding, testing, and managing web applications that transcends particular technologies. Also, just about any application we build could have been built with ASP, ASP.NET, JSP/Java, Cold Fusion, PHP or one of many other server technologies, and one of many SQL-based database technologies as well. That being said, when the customer has no technology specification, we tend to use PHP and mySQL because of their low cost, proven performance and portability.

Q:   How long does it take to create a website or web application?
A:   Our number one goal is to provide the customer what he/she needs, when he/she needs it. We don't dictate scopes or schedules. We are honest about what we think we can accomplish in a given period of time, and take our commitments to deadlines seriously. Statistically, though websites and custom applications can have widely varying scopes, our initial development projects tend to last between 8 and 15 weeks. Need an accelerated schedule? Just ask.

Q:   How much do you charge for a new website or web application?
A:   The price of a custom website or website application varies as widely as the scope. We have a simple, effort-based pricing system that yields competitive prices for quality work. Statistically, most brochure websites are priced between $2000 and $8000, and most applications are priced between $8000 and $30,000. We occasionally build sites and applications for costs outside these ranges on either end.

Q:   Will I have a single direct contact during and after the project?
A:   Yes. We provide a dedicated, in-house project manager for every project. Our customers have direct access to those managers throughout and after the project.

Q:   Do you support the websites/applications you build?
A:   Yes. One of our greatest strengths is building upgradable, easy-to-maintain websites and web applications. We believe in supporting our clients with their post-production and repeat-project needs. Over half of our yearly revenue comes from repeat sales. It is our goal that once a customer works with us, they never want to work with anyone else.
